Here I'm actually laying out the boat, full size. I built a loft floor,
12' x 48', levelled it with shims, covered it with 3/4" particle
board, painted it white, and started drawing from the table of offsets.
It was a pretty logical process which took about 3 weeks. Finding stock
and ripping long battens (20' or more) was one of the more difficult parts,
especially for a newbie. The longer and better the battens, the more fair
the lofting, and thus the more fair the boat. It was a good start, and
really helped me to figure out how the boat went together. Next
