SV Restless

This is much later, the internals of the rudder, sand blasted and about to get the port side skin installed, edge and plug welded. The stock is 2" 316 solid. This was one of those sub projects which took a little longer than I thought it might. It's a NACA foil section which I took from an article somewhere, but it's complicated by the fact that it's longer on the bottom than on the top, which meant that each wing shaped piece was different, and laying them all out and cutting them fair took a while... about 2 weeks total. I put a half coupling on top, and later poured a 1/2 gallon of epoxy in, swirled it all around, drained it out, let it cure, and sealed it up. It was fun, but a surprising amount of work. It does, however, do it's job very well... the boat is surprisingly easy to steer and very responsive, especially for 21 tons and 50'. Next
