Pilot house, starboard side. I agonized over what to do with this space
for many years. It could have been a settee at sole level, pilot berth
outboard, or 2 chairs facing each other, or a settee with a drop down
back to make a double, or who knows. I left the space empty for literally
10 years or more while doing other stuff. Finally decided to do something
like this, with a raised platform, 2 seats, and a high-low table for dining
or reading or playing with a laptop. I once spent 3 days in thick fog
in Northeast Harbor, stuck down below in a cave without being able to
watch the world go by. With this arrangement we can sit comfortably in
port and see out the pilot house windows. The cardboard is an early mockup
of the seats, since changed. Next
